Sault Tribe Member Leads Band to Greektown Casino

The Sault Tribe News CHICAGO -- Backyard is a six-piece band in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The band was started in 1998 and they play the Chicago area as well as out of state venues. In February, Backyard played at the Greektown Casino in Detroit where they had great response from the crowd. The band members are Hanan Hall, lead vocals; Frank Sanzi, drums; Ray Burakowski, keyboards; Jay Leonteos, lead guitar and vocals; Eddie Matthews, lead guitar and vocals; and Sault Tribe member Art Miller, bass guitarist and songwriter. Their CD, "American Dream," recorded at Wuli Records in Chicago, has been getting recent air play at WPIQ in Manistique, WYKX in Escanaba and WMQT in Marquette. Backyard hopes to play at special events and other tribal casinos including Sault Ste. Marie and St. Ignace. The CD should be available later this summer.
