| Richard "Dick" Miller -- Drums |
Richard "Dick" Miller acquired his first drum set at the age of 15. After just a few months, he began playing the bars in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with Tom Mercer & The Sound Society. While most teenagers worked at various part-time jobs, Richard made his money as a musician.
After graduating from Big Bay DeNoc High School, he moved to Milwaukee and played with Free Wheel. The next band he played with was Music Review wich lasted three years.
Richard moved to Chicago in 1980, where he joined his brother, Art, in the band StarCruiser. StarCruiser played the Chicago circuit for three years with national acts, such as Survivor, Donnie Iris and Ruby Star. In the early 90's he formed a band called Makawa which lasted for about 10 years. But after years of drumming, Richard went into hibernation and the drums were put on the back burner for four years. At the request of his brother, he agreed to fill in for Backyard's drummer and a new journey has begun. |
